Next potential #SWFC manager analysis thread is Thorsten Fink
Another leftfield choice like José Morais, but this one makes more sense. Most recently in Japan with Vissel Kobe but resigned to return to his family following 2 cup wins. (1/10)

Fink has 30 years of experience in football - 15 as a manager across 5 countries (Austria, Germany, Cyprus, Japan and Switzerland). In terms of formations, he's historically known for playing 4-3-3-3 but recently utilised a back 5 & has experimented previously. #SWFC (2/10)
Fink’s style of play has varied throughout his career & he’s not wedded to one approach. At APOEL he tried to implement possession based attacking football. At Hamburg he implemented high pressing and counter attacking attacks alongside a compact midfield. #SWFC (3/10)
At Vissel Kobe Fink was hired to implement a Barcelona style identity that plays possession based football (1st season ranked 2nd for goals & massively overperformed their xG). He's very much a student of German football - big into discipline and tactical thought. #SWFC (4/10)
The good:
* Fink has experience in transformation projects – was specifically hired by Vissel Kobe to implement a European style of football. Similar to José Morias in this regard.
*He has solid European experience in the likes of the Bundesliga & Swiss Super League. #SWFC (5/10)

The good cont':
*Fink’s career Points Per Game is 1.62 which is above the likes of Bruce/Carlos.
*A career win percentage of 43% & Goals For/Against ratio of 832:670. Which shows his attacking style of football.
*Recently he’s had success in Japan winning 2 cups.

The bad:
*Thorsten Fink hasn't managed in England. Whilst this doesn’t automatically disqualify him from success (think Daniel Farke) it does mean we are banking on Fink adapting to England rapidly to ensure our survival (think Bruno Ribeiro in terms of bad). #SWFC (7/10)

The bad cont':
*Fink is a head coach. He’s worked with sporting directors to implement a philosophy (see Vissel Kobe). He would not have this structure in place at #SWFC to support his transition. (8/10)

The badcont':
*Whilst Fink is flexible in his approach, do we have the current players for his preferred possession based attacking football at #SWFC? We certainly have some in Bannan/Brown but do others share confidence on the ball – Lees certainly doesn’t. (9/10)

My take on Thorsten Fink is that he would be a gamble but I would consider him a decent appointment for #SWFC, on the provision that we provide him with a Director of Football. He may not be a short term antidote to this rotten season though. (10/10)
This what you wanted @BillPashley
