Psquare, artistes I feel don’t get the recognition they deserve. Easily up there among the greatest Nigerian Artistes, Afrobeats Icons.

1. These dons defined an era during the early 2000s.
They came in around 2002 with this hip hop culture but managed to infuse our Nigerian music into it, they were singing in pidgin, rapping in English and fucking break dancing with their durags and basketball aesthetics
2. Senorita was released around the time Igbedu was released but listen to the difference. One thing that isn’t spoken about enough was Psquare’s versatility, one moment they are break dancing to a hip hop beat the next minute it’s RNB.
3. After dropping Jams like Get Squared etc they began to lean towards more Afro RnB, Oga police, Omoge mi etc, very sweet songs but this song, Temptation, man! Lagos big boys played this song and your aunties had their legs in the air.
4. One thing about Psquare, they are going to drop club bangers. I dare say it, they probably have the most hits in Nigerian Music industry.
Wallahi, they are always in the clubs, on radios, shows, everywhere.
Bizzy body is like the definition of a Nigerian party song
5. What did I tell you about Psquare being hit makers? 🧐
6. Up next post Invasion.
One thing I respect Psquare for is they understood music as a business. While most Nigerian artistes were dropping singles upon singles, Psquare dropped albums and Invasion was the album.
In fact 80% of songs in their track listing were bangers 😭
7. I remember people saying Dancing Psquare is done, we are only getting afrobeats and then boom, Alingo dropped.
I’ll never forget 2012, every amusement park, every store, every motive, every party, everybody was dancing alingo. Like I said hit makers
8. My favourite Psquare video,
I grew up as a Michael Jackson fan, and I know Psquare were fans too and this video, had it in my nokia asha 305 and watched it every fuvking day 😭
9. They had one of the most successful musical careers I’ve ever seen, spanning from I think 2002 to like 2017, cutting across hip hop, Afro rnb, afro beats etc, with like 5 albums and more hits than any Nigerian artiste alive. Towards the end they still dropped bangers
10. Left the best for the last, from the game over era
Music? iconic. Video? iconic. Do me was like IT! Psquare influence on fashion and lifestyle is downplayed, had all the girls whining their wast with the low waist jeans, every nigga wanted to break dance and wear durag. Icons
