Talking to "catholic" experts in med ethics (or even priests) is sometimes, for catholic physicians, very frustrating. Because what they get as answers on very dificult questions in modern medicine, are often ambiguous advices or even any answer at all.

Many branches of medicine (like gynecology, obstetrics, geriatrics, genetics, ...) are (in many countries) virtually inaccesible for a young catholic physician (or student of medicine) with normally functioning conscience.

So, when church leaders don't care about one of the most important battlefields of moral war, please, don't be suprised, that the moral state of medicine is, as it is.
