NEW: Wales' coronavirus case rate has dropped substantially and is now closer to 400 cases per 100,000 people.

It's currently at 436 - but just 8 days ago the rate was 649.2.

It's really going in the right direction - but warnings of an increase from the Christmas relaxation.
Please note, there have been less tests over Christmas - but not a huge reduction.

Latest stats (19th Dec - 25th Dec) - 67,884 tests
Week before (12th Dec - 18th Dec) - 87,463 tests
Week before (5th Dec - 11th Dec) - 77,143 tests
Also while this is positive news - our hospitals are really struggling at the moment. Hopefully in a few weeks, the lower numbers will translate into lower pressure on our NHS.
As @DafyddTrystan was right to point out, the positive test % is higher - since Monday, almost a third of people tested have the virus.

@vaughangething also told me we must worry about a potential increase after the relaxation to the rules over Christmas.
