You’ll find that age old answer to “why is it so may people work hard and don’t get anywhere”?

Has a very practical answer...

Under scrutiny it will always come down to “are you working on your dreams? Or someone else’s”?

It’s the harsh truth.

And it matters.
If you’ve been working hard and putting effort out for other people, they are likely prospering.

Whether it’s an employer or your family if you’re putting most of your hard work there, you’ll see they are clearly benefiting proportionally...

Now consider this:
How many hours a week, how much energy, and focus is directly put on a single purpose for yourself in life?

The rhetoric around “hard work” ignores an honest audit of what we work on.

Working hard on yourself has to become a priority if you want to see gains and a return.
If you work hard on improving your body nobody is going to say “hard work doesn’t get you anywhere”.

When you work hard and study nobody says “hard work doesn’t pay off”...

It’s when you work hard for other ppl and not yourself that ppl say that. The problem is not hard work...
Hard work pays off. If you’re not benefiting from it, YOU are not the focus of your efforts.

Once you realize that, it comes down to deciding you love yourself enough to make yourself a priority and work with a purpose that benefits you in a meaningful way.
The issue is that people keep bringing up that it’s not “easy” to succeed.

It’s not supposed to be easy... it’s supposed to be worth it...

because you are supposed to accept that you are worth it...

It’s the believe that the life you want is worth delayed gratification.
So when you think about or hear that “hard work doesn’t get you anywhere”

I want you to think about the times you worked hard on something that mattered to you, and when you weren’t working for someone else’s goals.

You reaped the benefits of that and took pride in it.
Also remember, working hard at the wrong things is what causes burnout.

Most ppl never get to learn more about themselves and their strengths, and what they are truly good at.

So working against your nature is not in your interest.
