Meanwhile, those opposing Brexit will not stop opposing it. They (we) are as committed to this as we are to any political party, and for as long as the negative consequences roll out (minimum 1 decade) we will stand up to those who did this ...

However, if Labour abstains and Starmer says "put the deal we were promised before the House and I will vote for it, because I accept the mandate of the referendum. But this deal is not what was promised, and has no mandate", the deal will still pass...
The ERG supporting the deal ensures that.
But now the Tories will own every negative outcome, and Labour are in a position to attack it. They cannot stop it, but they can point at the Tories over every lost job, drop in GDP, business relocation, closing car plant...

If you want to win in 2025, it's not a bad idea to align with the beliefs of the anti-Brexit majority, while being on record accepting the referendum, and also have a vast arsenal of attack lines over the shit outcome.
Voting for the deal throws all that away.
