I don't really understand the outrage towards the Leeds Utd Twitter account. I've seen loads of pundits have their analysis teased by official club accounts, without this level of reaction. Is this what people mean by 'white-knighting?' The club didn't even tag the pundit.
West Ham teasing Mark Lawrenson in a tweet. No outrage 🤷

This is demonstrably untrue. All pundits come in for online stick for their opinions. Look at how #NUFC fans treat most pundits nowadays - or ask Rio Ferdinand about them. When pundits make controversial, provocative statements, people will respond. https://twitter.com/SimonBrundish/status/1344244822287200256?s=19
The Leeds Twitter account rinsed Tim Sherwood in a very similar vein just a fortnight ago. To say this particular pundit is being treated differently by the club account because of her gender is just not true. https://twitter.com/LawesDisorder/status/1344238916354912256?s=19
Now, I'm sure there has been inevitable sexist comments towards her because of her gender. That is an issue that needs addressing throughout society, irrespective of field of employment. Sexism is wrong, in every circumstance.
However, saying Leeds should have treated her differently than Sherwood because she is a woman, as so many pundits are saying today, is some of the most patronising, condescending behaviour you could imagine. The outrage mob should consider how they are furthering the problem.
Women are perfectly capable of standing up for themselves, and taking criticism. Women don't need blokes acting like protectors and moral arbitrators. If you're reacting differently to this because the pundit's name is Karen, rather than Kevin, then you're part of the problem.
