We set out weeks ago why it would be a mistake for Labour to endorse Johnson's Brexit deal. All of the arguments here still apply.

2/5
Labour MPs do not vote for Conservative Budgets that will damage lives and livelihoods - but that is what Johnson's Brexit deal will do.
3/5
Labour MPs are being asked to vote for a deal that is significantly more damaging than the one Theresa May put to the House of Commons.
We opposed that deal on principle, it makes no sense to endorse this one.
4/5
We need to hold the government to account for the short and long-term problems that Johnson's Brexit will create.
From border issues from Jan 1st, to lasting damage to UK businesses.
Voting for this deal today makes that job far more difficult.
5/5
Today will be a sad end.
We hope as many Labour MPs as possible refuse to endorse this deal.
Let's not vote the same way as the ERG.
Let's be clear that Labour is a Pro-European party and while we couldn't stop Brexit - this damaged was not done in our name.
