hello twitter, i really hate making this tweet but since twt is an opinionated hivemind anyways i will state my opinions as well.
when there’s a controversy going on, we should stop doing “hello oomfs unfollow @/username because they did this and that”. we should just simply ++

say “hello oomfs it has come to my attention that @/username has did horrible things and therefore i will no longer support them. here’s what they did: [insert this and that]”.
why do i think this is better? in the first place your oomfs will not feel obligated to unfollow them.

your oomfs are not brainless, they can make their own decisions based on the information you out in. if you just say “unfollow @/username they’re an asshole” or “if you still follow @/username im sbing you” it sounds like you’re initiating a witch hunt.
if you wanna make your oomfs unfollow someone, make them unfollow that person because they’re a bad person, not because you told them to.
and yes i made this because ccs were getting involved in the ophie situation.
