5 Predictions for #Ethereum / $ETH during 2021

1/ Institutions are coming & many will start to buy $ETH.

Why?

Liquidity, CME futures (not a security), reflexivity as #2, narrative of all apps being built on it, many existing fiat on-ramps, and flailing "competitors."

2/ DeFi use will explode, again. Starting with a big surge in Q1 & again late Q3.

The emphasis will shift from food tokens to synthetic assets, financial contracts, and collateralized lending.

This will be fueled by CEXes pooling customer funds to allow for small participants.

3/ L2 will take the main net by storm, heating up in earnest during Q3.

These will be based on rollup technologies, and will help Ethereum not only scale to more users, but also create far better UX and allow for new services altogether.

4/ $ETH will establish its brand as a programmable store of value- reinforced by DeFi deposits and staking in eth2.

This will propel ETH on its inevitable journey to become the world's first programmable macro asset, and over 5-10 years the implications will be staggering.

5/ Last, but not least:

EIP-1559 will launch onto eth1x, introducing the world to what could be a truly deflationary $ETH.

This reinforces the ETH as a SoV- ending discussions around ETH "endless supply" and start them around why PoW hardcaps are unworkable.
