The deeper I wade into this memoir manuscript and make calls to fact-check with my family, the more shocking stories I uncover. If this was anybody else's family, I'd laugh.

Called my mother the other day and...

On the one hand, I'm like "get it girl"...

Grandmamma resting in her grave like...

Oh, but my Mama was something to behold. She whatn't playing. I said, "You shot who and when?"

Baby Girl stayed on lock...

And, if it it wasn't that.. it was this...

I guess since she's damn near 80, she feels free to tell the tale. Dude's name was Joe and he got stuck outside a nightclub.

Another one named Barry was a stalker...

She shot him twice after he threatened to slice off her eyelids. Dude signed himself out the hospital and came right back. Mind you, he still had the bullets in him...

The locked her up, but she got out...

Meanwhile, I'm writing all this sh*t down when my sister calls...

Talking about my Daddy saved her from a tornado in 1968...

I ain't believe it at first. Then I Googled that sh*t...

Whew, chile. This family of mine got me like...

Aunt Josie kept coming back...

Crazy thing is, she kept making money appear. It literally fell out of her old dressers long after she died...

Auntie Gerry kept all the heavenly cash for herself, of course.

Cousin Pudgie *saw* Aunt Josie one night. Ran out screaming and tearing her clothes off...

I had to sleep in Aunt Josie’s room that night...

And...

Woke up like...

Auntie Gerry was unfazed.

Me one the other hand...
