Great work confirming this by Natalie. One of many questions now is why @MNPDNashville didn’t tell the public this themselves as soon as they knew it was the same guy. https://twitter.com/natalie_allison/status/1344106245238743040

Yes, it’s not hard to come up with a guess. My point is this is the question they need to answer. https://twitter.com/joshwnelson/status/1344125450348589057
Yup. When the police kill someone they don’t wait for records requests from reporters, they get the person’s criminal history and mug shot in everyone’s inboxes right away. https://twitter.com/meribah/status/1344130309000978432
Seems to me there are two separate but related things here. 1. Why didn’t or couldn’t police do more when Warner’s girlfriend first reported this? 2. Why have they concealed this information for days now?
I have questions about 1 and hope to understand more but I also understand that is complicated. We don’t want a low bar for arresting someone. But 2, how they have effectively lied by omission about this for days it’s own separate matter.

Anyone who has ever had their car searched because an officer "smelled marijuana" might reasonably have some questions about all this, huh?
MNPD’s August 2019 incident report notes that officers noticed security cameras and an alarm sign on Warner’s home. I went by his house the other day. There are 5 no trespassing/ warning signs and at least 7 security cameras visible.
I am all about petty media inside baseball, don't get me wrong. But beyond all that, @jasonashville's tweet and subsequent request to MNPD is important to acknowledge as a data point when it comes to looking at how the department apparently concealed this info as long as it could
