2006 was Novak Djokovic's first full season.

He started that season aged 18, ranked #78, with no ATP titles to his name.

Roger&Rafa were already at the top, ranked 1&2, dominating the field.

That was 15 years ago. Look what happened 😍

Venit, vidit, vicit 😍

This table covers the 15 years since Novak played his first full season.

He won more matches, beat more top-20, top-10, top-5 and Big-3 players than Roger or Rafa.

He earned more ranking points in total.

2/
He won more titles, more elite titles, more masters&more ATP finals than Roger or Rafa.

He spent more weeks as #1&ended the year as #1 more times than his rivals.

All this we can see by looking at the table, but there are many other achievements that tables can't capture.

3/
Tables show quantitative achievements, but miss out on qualitative achievements.

Tables don't show that at the age of 20, he beat players #3, #2(Nadal) & #3(Federer) on his way to his 2nd masters title.

Or that he became the youngest player to make the SFs of all 4 slams.

4/
Tables cannot capture the enormity of the 2011 season. How a 23-year-old beat Fedal 10 times in one season&wrested the #1 away from their hands.

So many achievements go beyond charts&tables:

🔸The Nole Slam, holding all 4 GS titles at the same time on 3 different surfaces.

5/
🔸Winning all masters twice (no player has done it even once).
🔸Winning the sunshine double 3 years in a row
🔸Most top-10 wins (31) in a single season.
🔸Winning 10 elite titles in a single season (3GS,6 Masters, ATP Finals).
🔸Earliest qualification ever to the ATP Finals.

6/
🔸Being #1&having more ranking points than #2 and #3 together.
🔸Most consecutive GS wins (30)

Tables do not capture his commitment to his lower-ranked colleagues, the hours spent trying in negotiations, organising relief funds, trying to make their working conditions better.

I could have added total prize money earned, he holds that record too. Also the record of most money donated in 2020.

If we take into account the hostile crowds, the unfair coverage, the "unlucky" schedules... all his achievements are worth twice.
At least. 😀

8/
He's a couple of slams behind, but leads in every other metric.

He has positive H2H against Roger&Rafa&has faced tougher opposition.

We don't know what will happen in the future, but we know what happened in the last 15 years.

The new kid came, saw and conquered.
