Not since Marconi invented radio has a more impactful audio program ever been broadcast!

“The Power of Connection: Reflections and ruminations on the year 2020 and hopes for 2021”, hosted by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, featuring one Archie Harrison.

WELCOME TO MY TED TALK!!
#HarryandMeghan hosted an approx 1/2 hour pod with notable guests (“friends and other folks”) sharing lessons learned during 2020 and the pandemic, and hopes for the year ahead. Those friends recorded audio diaries, which were curated and presented in #ArchewellAudio’s premiere.
The lineup: Elton John, who seems eternally youthful by dint of his rep for high-energy performances, revealed he’s 73 & as semi diabetic, vulnerable to covid due to “underlying condition.” Said, “Zoom has been a life saver” and “hopes we can go back to some sort of normality.”
Matt Haig (author) and Rachel Cargle (writer, activist) told us how they’ve dealt w/ loss & the fear of loss during covid. MH: Chance to attend funeral of family friend “was taken away.” RC: “Thoughts of a pending loss w/o being able to grieve in community was all consuming.
Deepak Chopra spoke about finding “meaning and purpose in life”, love in action means doing something to help ppl. “Love without action is irrelevant. Action without love is meaningless.” Two practitioners of this mantra are Stacey Abrams & Jose Andres. They’re the solutions ppl.
Abrams is a democracy advocate. Who said she gave herself “permission” to watch television and read “when I should’ve been working.” She allowed sadness to seep in so she could “find joy on the other side.” After the sadness, she’ll continue to work for what she thinks is right.
Jose Andres (“cook”, restaurant owner, humanitarian) spoke about how his mother and father who were both nurses, taught him empathy. And it is that empathy that fuels his disaster relief work, work that will be joined and supported by Harry and Meghan’s nonprofit, Archewell.
Other guests included: filmmaker and philanthropist, Tyler Perry; professional tennis player, Naomi Osaka; George The Poet; TV host, James Corden; climate activist, Christina C; author and podcast host, Brene Brown; and poet, Hussain Manawer, who impressed with a gritty piece.
And to top them all... in a 10 second cameo that shook the world! Harry and Meghan’s 19-month old son, Archie, whose laugh cut through the fog of covid-induced miasma like a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. Thanks, Arch! Good lookin out.
H&M used the premiere episode of their #ArchewellAudio podcast to introduce their audience to some of the ppl whose opinions and work they value, like Jose Andres, who the couple recently announced they’re working with to build four relief centers in disaster-prone areas of the+
...world. We hear from Tyler Perry, who a misinformed Brit writer erroneously described as a “rapper”, about philanthropic efforts that saw him provide groceries and gift cards to over 5,000 Georgia families for Thanksgiving. +
H&M used the premiere episode of their #ArchewellAudio podcasThanksgiving. After years of palace leaks and secret sources who presumed and presented as Sussex spokespeople, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex used this opportunity to speak for themselves. +
They’ll use this platform to speak directly to ppl about the issues that inspire & motivate them.

Ending the discussion with a joyful song from their wedding...

Sharing Archie’s giggles on their terms...

Signs of the happiness and security we hoped for them.

Great debut! ❤️
