Don’t stress out about the mess on your farm at first, you’ll waste your energy over clearing and you only have to do enough clean up to plant your crops at first.

I recommend selling all of your parsnip seeds except one, you need 1 parsnip for the community center but they don’t sell for much money. You can use the extra money you get from selling all but 1 parsnip seed to buy 1 green bean and 1 cauliflower seed, you need those for the-

At the egg festival they will sell strawberry seeds, this is the early game money maker. Buy as MANY strawberry seeds as you can afford, and save enough energy to plant and water them the same night you get them, after the egg festival

Some other early game tips: start fishing early game, you’ll want to get some practice at it early on so you don’t struggle with it through the whole game. I promise it gets easier with time and practice.

I personally took the time to write down everyone’s birthdays and their favorite things, it’s a good idea to raise friendship levels with everyone as early as you can, as everyone will send you goodies in the mail and such after you reach a certain friendship level

Just remembered the quality crops bundle in the community center, in my opinion, it’s easiest to do melons, corn, and pumpkins, skipping the parsnips. Save your sap you get from cutting down trees, you can turn it into fertilizer! Lay down the fertilizer on the crops—

you’re trying to make “quality” (the melons/corn/pumpkins) and they have a higher chance of being gold star, which is what you need for the bundle— 5 of each

I recommend planting and fertilizing as many as you can/afford, just to be safe.

Also, don’t cut the grass on your farm until you’ve built a silo. Once you have a silo and harvest the grass, it’ll turn into hay and go into the silo as feed for the animals you’ll eventually be getting

I recommend building your silo ASAP, even if you don’t get animals—

For awhile after, that way you have a silo full of food for them by the time you have your babies on your farm.

I almost forgot— foraging is so so so important early game. Pick up EVERYTHING, every flower, berry, everything. If it’s a foragable item, pick it up. Some of the items can be eaten for extra energy, some make good gifts, (especially the daffodils)
