I don't say that sarcastically. @profemilyoster's false and agenda- driven narrative, woven with both hidden and outright lies, has gotten a lot of people killed in this country. Reopening schools worsened community spread this fall, especially after the holidays.

A lot of amazing epidemiologists have publicly and privately dissected every reason why economists like @ProfEmilyOster continue to miss the mark and put lives in danger. Yet, she refuses to take criticism or reevaluate her methods, or engage in meaningful dialect about it.

If @ProfEmilyOster and @NateSilver538 refuse to use data that's been available via @thecovidmonitor since long before she started her misguided takeover of pediatric epi, then we have to stop providing her an avenue to spread this dangerous misinformation. Total media blackout.

Part of this job is letting the public know when they're being lied to or mislead, and being advocates and champions of the data and what it does or doesn't say. That means speaking out on the issue of schools, and the dangerous misinformation being spread by this economist
