A gentle plea to news editors - please spare us the 'Year in Review' features for 2020.
No one wants to revisit this train-wreck of a year. No one will feel nostalgic for the time they spent on the sofa, for the day they were put on furlough or sacked, for the miserable hours spent home-schooling, for the cancelled holidays, for the anxiety or the grieving.
Just don't go there. Don't do it. Resist the urge to fill broadcast time or pages with something lazy. You know what would be great instead? How about a list of things to hope for in 2021.
