Singing abt the character development has gone 2 the wind in the finale, so what abt this
Dean: Stay w. me, his long-lasting wish, the one thing he ever wanted from Sam, he's able to say it finally, although he died many times b4, he just couldn't bring himself 2 say it out loud

Dean: "I love you so much, my baby brother". Although Dean said it through his actions countless times, he just wasn't the one who can express his feelings so easily due to his upbringing, simply putting it as it was against his principle "no chick flick moments".
Dean: "I must have stood outside your dorm for hours..." Dean of the first seasons could have never said that things to Sam, being insecure about Sam abandoning him, he would've been so scared of the consequences of such truth.
Dean: "I think I'll go for a drive" waiting for his brother in heaven, after learning the hard way that no matter who he had in his life, he can't be happy w/o his brother, so he didn't even try to find anyone else, waiting for his soulmate.
Sam: accepting his domestic life with Dean w/o hesitation, no more searching for a way to get away from hunting life, this is his life now & he wouldn't replace it for any other kind of life.
Sam: "Don't leave me', his greatest insecurity, that Dean would leave him to fight this life alone, or that Dean didn't love him enough so he'd prefer death to spend his days with Sam, he was always afraid of that but the stubborn Sam of the first seasons couldn't have said it.
Sam: living his normal life, carrying on just for D's sake, he didn't seek the normal for himself this time, he stopped thinking abt himself at all, he's just surviving, never stopped longing & missing D, fully accepted that D is engraved on his heart, stopped fighting it anymore
Sam/Dean: finding their peace finally in heaven, accepting there's no one else for them except for each other, the heaven is not perfect now for both of them 'cuz it's heaven, it's perfect 'cuz of this hard-earned acceptance.
