Persuading people always comes with *Cost* and *Risk*.
Persuading people always comes with *Cost* and *Risk*.
The *Cost* is that persuading people will cost you time and energy; your most precious resources.
The *Risk* is that most people are ego invested in their opinions, and if you attempt to persuade them to change their opinion, it is likely to cause them to dislike you.
People disliking you is bad, since it makes them less willing to help you in the future, and more willing to inflict harm upon you.
As such, only attempt to persuade someone if the following 2 things are both true:
-You have something *Substantial To Gain* by successfully persuading them
-You think there is a *High Probability You Will Be Able To Succeed* in persuading them
-You have something *Substantial To Gain* by successfully persuading them
-You think there is a *High Probability You Will Be Able To Succeed* in persuading them
Never allow your ego to drag you into attempting to persuade someone, when doing so is hopeless, or you have nothing real to gain by doing so.
When persuading, do so as gently and as politely as possible.
Expressing anger when persuading is counterproductive; it causes the target to become defensive, and to be unreceptive to what you say.
