Now here's the thing;
The average, everyday, bog standard teacher actually doesn't have a say in anything, really. They've been in school as much as possible, and been out when told to be. So when people have a go at 'teachers', who are they actually complaining about? 1/8

And actually, even the majority of senior leaders and head teachers haven't had much of a say in anything - they've just been doing what they've been told by the powers that be above them. So who are people actually complaining about when they say 'the teachers'? 2/8
Aaand I get that some teachers may not have pulled their weight during lockdown 1. It's unfortunate but for every 1 of them there's 1000s more striving to provide as much as they can. But as before, the majority were operating based on what guidance they were given from above 3/8
But, what's frightening more is just how quickly the conspiracy theorists and covid-deniers have appeared, irrespective of firsthand accounts coming from senior hospital staff. This country has serious trust issues with "The System" 4/8
Because, let's face it, The System (read: The Government) has let people down for, well, ever. Anyway-back to schools:
It's the government making the calls, not your everyday teachers and school staff. So, you know, maybe give them a bit of slack and get annoyed at the gvmnt 5/8

Think carefully about the sources of info you are reading and sharing, and maybe don't just RT stuff because it fits your narrative and was on Facebook or behind a Tory sponsored pay-wall website. Just because you see the number 40,000, doesn't make it accurate... 6/8
And please, above all else, look out for those going above and beyond for their school communities - the ones taking what limited resources this awful government have given them and trying to make other people's lives better (you know who you are) and shout about them
7/8

Anyway, to recap:
Stop getting annoyed at teachers - they're just doing their jobs and getting caught in the crossfire between a whole range of angry, misinformed people and an inept government intent on leaking poor decision making through their media chums. 8/8
