Can't tell if Austin rollout is exemplary or slow. Media coverage is feel-good, which is understandable, but unhelpful.

Local officials seem focused on preventing spread. Again, understandable. But it might be good to explain the vaccination plan, too. https://twitter.com/ashishkjha/status/1343768403358736384
Maybe we are not doing that great even here locally... https://twitter.com/statesman/status/1344062659608641538
Something about this implies we do NOT yet have an effective and equitable rollout strategy/plan, right? https://twitter.com/mattlargey/status/1344056648596385793
I’m not even sure what local officials to nudge on this? The City Manager? The Mayor? The County Judge? Execs at Central Health? Hospital execs? Something seems off about the rollout so far; perhaps there are no local doses sitting on shelves. But if there are, that’s...very bad.
Great thread. Daily updates on vaccination progress can help, too.

The current lack of vaccine supply gives us time to come up with distribution infrastructure, a local media campaign, and an equity plan.

Central Health has >$100m in its reserve to help pay before fed help. https://twitter.com/gregcasar/status/1346580862381518853
