This is why I secretly (not really secretly) despise student vet orgs on campus. https://twitter.com/photofettbh/status/1343992281771216896
With one caveat. Schools with little to no resources typically have quality student vet orgs, because they have a shared mission. Schools with quality resources have useless student vet orgs, because they don’t have a shared mission and just become a drinking/social club.
What makes more sense is to push vets into academic and identity based orgs, rather than let them hide out in a student vet org. I do support student vet orgs that have an additional mission. LGBT student vets, black student vets, Latinx student vets, etc.
My rule of thumb is that by your junior year at the latest, you should identify more with your academic peers than your veteran peers and I shouldn’t see your ass in the SVRC every day.
