tw anti bs, it's pretty regular in this fandom for fanboys and antis to compare reylo shippers to women who wrote love letters to serial killers, say shippers or redemption stans are literally "delusional" or "crazy", or that they have irl bad morals and hurt irl people
tw anti bs, people have said that reylo shippers enable irl abuse or participate in the abuse and retraumatization of irl people *and* that shippers make themselves targets for abuse irl because of assumptions that shippers romanticize legit abusive dynamics or seek out abusers
like you get desensitized to it after you've been in the fandom for a while, but it's really weird that a lot of people, not just dedicated antis but casuals and movie critics and thinkpiece writers, think it's totally normal to generalize about people this way over fiction
like, it's not a normal or mainstream take that people who watch slasher movies are secretly psychopaths who want to kill people irl or that people who love superhero movies all want to be vigilantes. but for some reason takes like this are considered normal wrt "bad" shipping
and that's despite the fact that reylo is a pg-13 ship in movies for twelve year olds, it's not actually that edgy or messed up. but people legit talk about kylo ren like he's one of the worst "most cruel and abusive" characters ever put in movies and reylo is like a real taboo
so it's like, so many people made this ship and judging people over it their hill to die on, calling irl people abusers or acting like they're monsters over it, and somehow that's the behavior that's more accepted and ok compared to like, just enjoying this one fictional sff ship
