Its been the most incredible snow day. Photo thread incoming!
We passed the pendle Hill sledgers and walkers and headed in the opposite direction today, to quiet lanes and deep snow.
We found a small tree plantation we'd never walked before and it was perfect.
As the low winter sun set, it lit up the woodland with golden hour pinks and peaches.
Fire-lit and frozen.
Until the warm light faded to blue, and a cold silence settled with the snow.
Pendle Rose flat against the sky, like a paper cutout.
I'm waiting for my winter wetsuit and eying the water here.
Before the light faded completely: that snow-light sky that is at once filled with warm colour but signals frozen land.
Then the moon rose, full and frozen too, lighting up the snow below (can you believe this is a phone shot? Not so sharp but still!).
