If I were head of the CCPs propaganda department, just theoretically speaking of course 🤗, the way I would wage psy-war in the West wouldn't be through funding English language CCTV or even bothering with counter-propaganda but rather with amplifying existing anti-social trends
Giving people your version of the truth is a sisyphean task because introducing new facts doesn't actually change other people's minds. Hunan's aren't rational to the degree most people think they are. Instead of countering anti-Chinese propaganda that plays through their priors
head on, the United Front would be better off amplifying anti anything else propaganda to the hilt. For 99% of of people, China is a distant abstraction. There are always more personal immediate hatreds that take priority. Chinese disinformation campaigns should instead serve to
magnify those fault lines. Gypsies, Jews, Blacks, the French, whoever the target of ire is irrelevant, the only issue is it being rousing to popular passions. For example, China should fund and amplify the fuck out of anti-Korean Japanese activists and vice versa for South Korea
The method of counteracting American disinformation campaigns is to flood the zone with even more disinformation. The United Front should also paradoxically fund the least credible anti-China activists as well. The low social capital morons by default repel smarter people at an
an instinctive level. The overall intent of the campaign should not be to legitimize the Chinese POV but to lower the legitimacy level overall of enemy narrative framing. As in the past, the Chinese must learn from the Russians at how to do effective propaganda work.
