2020 has been a year we will remember forever. Amongst the hardship and darkness the frontline workers have been incredible
Here is a [THREAD] about the policing heroes I have met this year
#ThinBlueLine

Having been run over whilst attempting to stop a stolen vehicle, and almost losing their foot, a close friend returned to work and passed their dog handlers course, TPD Rose passed her course too
@MetTaskforce #Heroes

I was invited to the @PFEW_HQ National Roads Policing Conference by @region8rep
I presented @SurreyRoadCops officer PC Newman with the Outstanding Contribution to Roads Policing Award. Geoff was injured in the line of duty, and is still recovering
#Hero

I was fortunate enough to meet some armed @CityPoliceCops via @CityFed
In awe of their bravery, it was fascinating to hear about their spectrum of work, including their advanced medical training. These officers volunteer for the extra risk
Thanks for the badge
#Heroes

It’s been an honour and a privilege to become a trustee of @FlintHouseRehab
I’ve already met some remarkable people, and @SupersWylie and the team have made me feel most welcome. @FlintHousePhys have been wonderful dealing with the challenges this year
#Heroes

I presented a close friend with their Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal
Congratulations @RatGrumpy
You will be hard pushed to find a more popular, resilient and passionate ‘Skipper’. He’s had a tough year, but has continued to lead from the front
#Hero

I’ve been fortunate to visit #EastRPT @MPSRTPC again
These officers witness unimaginable trauma, and often put themselves in the midst of danger whilst executing their duties. Watching firsthand the skills on show really is something quite special
#Heroes

I was invited to host the Met presents @MovemberUK by @MPSNicholasHac1
Nicholas is passionate about improving the narrative and conversation around mental health. You could not wish to meet a kinder person, who genuinely cares about others
#Hero

I’ve spent time meeting and chatting to local @metpoliceuk SW BCU officers and PCSO’s too
Maz is my local PCSO, he is always out in the community engaging, and is a great listener too, there is not much he doesn’t spot either
#Hero

I finally got to meet the legendary @jqjasonkew
JQ, is an advocate for change, he is the epitome of trauma informed policing and has some fascinating ideas/visions
I got to see behind the scenes of the @TV_VRU and hear about all the great work going on too
#Heroes
