Social Engineering is process of collecting ur information through different sources,storing them for later purpose.The information is collected through various means including government agencies as well. Here person (the attacker) collect as much information abt u as he/she can

Email phishing is most tactics used here by attacker

But nowadays people r even started using manual tactics of collecting such detail

Has any stranger visited your house/society for asking family details pretending to be from government agency ?

If yes it's Social Engineering

Does you had any break-up in the past ?

Is your ex or ex's still get jealous about you ?

Was your past wasn't good enough?

Have you had any issue with some characterless people in the past ?

If Yes.

Well then you could be victim of this "Social Engineering"

Social Engineering is usually used by someone who is close to you but get jealous about you.

It is also used by group of people who is active in illegal fraud online.

It is also used as mean to take "Revenge".

But in most of cases Social Engineering is used for online frauds.

Sometimes you might be thinking some stranger have suddenly started visiting your home or got close to some of your family members. It may be good,it may be bad.

If it's good for you then it's fine,but if not then it could be part of this Social Engineering.

Social Engineering associated through family members is worst case scenario for you.

Because you might be knowing it's all part of Social Engineering process to gather as much of information about you. But yet you can't do anything because person has got trust of your close ones

Social Engineering information for online frauds is usually looking for information on your debit card number, bank account details,your personal national security id, etc.

Here someone calls you pretending to be from your bank asking such details unethically.

Elders person in family who is unaware of sharing such details can easily become victim of above Social Engineering online frauds.

Even smartest person become victim when information is collected through seductive means or by gaining trust in unethical manner

Trust and Betray usually goes parallel in this Social Engineering route where person get your trust and goes on and on still person reach peek to use Social Engineering on you with betray

Imagine situation where you r betray at ur worst phase by most trusted person of your life

Social Engineering play vital role in Education Sectors and Consultants.

In Education Sector Social Engineering data might be sold as well. (It's just my prediction)
