Ptsd from the workplace is so real. Of course it's rarely discussed. I hope we'll talk more about the psychological abuse bosses easily wield to ruin lives
The worker-employee relationship is inherently abusive in this country because it's so coerced. There's no real consent because this country will let you die and tell you it's deserved.
A boss decides my health care access, how much racism and harassment I endure, what work I can do, when I can take a break, AND CAN MAKE MONEY FROM MY INTELLECTUAL LABOR FOREVER
But if I hurt his feelings, I'm fired with my life ruined and poorer health and no support and more trauma....while he keeps profiting from my past work. I gained nothing from it. Except lack of homelessness. But I shouldn't have to exacerbate my PTSD to get basic needs met.
Ps, I'm seeing many examples of yelling bosses. I want to add that abusers don't need to yell to be abusive. It can come in many forms. For example at my last job there was: gaslighting, icing out, ignoring my civil rights complaints, coordinating with my abuser.
The dynamic between workers and employers is PRIME territory for abuse.
