Yes, blame China. But don’t forget the role that @WHO and @DrTedros played in all this.

Quick 🧵
They spent months - MONTHS - praising China for their “cooperation and transparency” in all of this.
Do we still think this one holds water @WHO? Sure doesn’t seem like China deserves applause for the “progress they have made to protect their own people and the people of the world.”
Are we still thanking the Chinese authorities, @WHO? I’m not.
Or how about this one. “WHO is reassured of the quality of ongoing investigations and the response measures implemented” by the Chinese government.

Still standing behind that, @WHO?
This one didn’t age perfectly huh.
“I left in absolutely no doubt about China’s commitment to transparency and to protecting the world’s people” is something the head of @WHO, @DrTedros, said in late January.
@WHO continues to have confidence in China’s capacity to control the outbreak” @DrTedros said in the same thread.
This one is the real whopper. The Chinese government “is to be congratulated” is not a take that I find myself agreeing with.
Every step of the way, the World Health Organization covered for China’s lies and worked to direct blame away from them, all as the disease infected the rest of the world and killed millions.

There are no words for how shameful and disgusting that is, @WHO.
