Many thanks to @LisaTMullin for the breakdown on how the women's declaration of sex based rights would affect trans people. Today I'm gonna look at some of the signatories and also CEDAW which they like to quote a lot

Mumsnet not wanting to be outdone by FWS, the group currently taking the Scottish Government to court to stop them having gender equality on public boards just because it might, just might, include a trans woman

Last but not least making the headlines yesterday is one of the newly elected co-chairs of GPEW Women's Group, who even managed to sign this before Posie Parker

So probably none of these people will admit to being transphobic but imo the declaration most certainly is. It would mean no GRA at all and trans women always called men and not allowed to use women's spaces, likewise for trans men being called women

Lets have a look at CEDAW as that's what they keep quoting and yes if you look at the original it only mentions sex BUT if you dig deeper

This from March 2020 and I've helpully screenshot the actual document from CEDAW's archive. As you can quite clearly see trans women are explicilty mentioned so maybe the people behind the women's declaration missed these bits or maybe they just don't want to see them

Forgot to add a couple of bits from the women's declaration's own q & a doc. Yes it's transphobic to call trans women men and try and revert all rights the have
It's also most definitely against ECHR as they forced the UK to have a GRA in the first place and its against EA
