Screw being average.

If you hate your job it might be time to head into your side hustle full time.

I did.

I had been working in IT for 8 years.

For 2 different small businesses.

Often long hours.

Tons of screen time and stress.
After my son was born last year I had to travel for work less than 30 days later.

That's when I decided I was done.

Did I quit?
No.

So, in September 2019, I started the side hustle I had been thinking about.

I made a few thousand dollars and worked on myself and my process to make sure it was viable for a full-time gig.

*test,test,test*

Did I quit my job then?
No.

I also had been studying personal finance for a while and had setup my baseline - home, insurance, saving, and investments.

I have a family to take care of here!

In February 2020 I put in my notice.

March was my last month of employment.
Lockdown was a good thing.

I didn't have to hear people telling me what a risk I was taking.

*shut out the noise*

I had plenty of work lined up.
Guess what?

The business is a home service business.

And considered "essential".

There was no slow down of work for me and if anything there was a boom in customers because they were all at home looking to get their home repaired.
It's been an incredible year, full of challenges and hard decisions.

But I wouldn't change it.
If you are considering quitting your job to go into your side hustle full time make sure you have the following:

-Personal finances in order
-Enough revenue to take a salary
-Enough leads to keep that going
-Growth plan
-A trusted person to check in with
