I don’t know who needs to hear this but If you like eating ass you should make sure you’ve gotten your Hep A vaccine.

Just saying.
This is a part of a broader conversation we need to have about the medical field and who gets the tea on all the STD / STI related vaccines and preventatives and who doesn’t.
If you’re high risk like me AKA you have multiple sex partners AKA you have sex with folks of the same sex (we’re talking genitals not gender folks) then you’ll most likely be offered EVERY vaccine that exists that can protect you from things like Hep A, Hep B, HPV etc.
However, folks who don’t fall into the high risk category because they’re straight, monogamous, or not disclosing the activities that could place them in a high risk category usually aren’t offered STD / STI vaccines or preventatives like PEP and PREP.
Why is this an issue?

Well, for one it perpetuates the thinking that anything but monogamous straight Sex is some how dirty.

It disregards the fact that straight folks participate in sexual activities that tend to be categorized as LGBTQ activities. Like rimming & anal oral.
Not offering everyone these vaccines fails to protect folks who are experimenting / learning about their sexuality.

It also forces folks to out themselves and the categorized as promiscuous.
Don’t get me started on how this perpetuates the thinking that LGBTQ folks and non monogamous folks are spreaders of disease. 🙄
