We heard the same re Ireland. The Brits even waged an economic war to try and make their fantasy a reality. It hasn't worked.
Then there is Australia. The graph isn't great. But see if you can guess which country has the higher GDP per head?
And finally, Kenya. Probably the most battered by Brit colonialism of these examples? But building well now. How did that country fair after cutting the apron strings?..?
The industrial scale lying of the British establishment in protection of its own privilege goes back centuries. Scots musn't fall for it again. The country is big enough, and wealthy enough, to plot its own course from here on in. And that's exactly what it should do.
