All this happened at a time of huge change and instability. People were moving to cities which struggled to cope. Extended families were rare so help was limited and many did not attend church so no support.
All this is relevant as all these conditions/5
Seem to be fuelling today’s rising levels of mental illness and suicides. Slashing nhs budgets is a big factor now as this safety net has been removed. Being in the depths of winter is now also making it difficult to get out and get the benefits of exercise and social contacts
