10 Iconic Pictures of Hip Hop (A Thread)

These are what I would say as 10 Hip Hop pictures that capture a moment that is staple for the sound and the moment and events of the genre.

Retweets are heavily appreciated and let's get it on!
1. Harlem 1998 The Greatest Day In Hip-Hop History Cover

This was a tribute to a 1958 picture based on Harlem too but on Jazz musicians with 57 Jazz Musicians but on this image we see the prolific spitters of the age from Wu-Tang, The Roots, De La Soul, ATCQ, and many more.
2. 2pac at Quad Studios

At 1994, Tupac Shakur would be shot outside of Quad Studios. This event will built up one of the biggest feuds in Hip Hop history between the West and East Coast fighting each other. This image is one of the hardest Pac image to exist.
3. The Soulquarians

This image right here would be one of the living proof of one of the most smoothest, unique and soul bending collectives of Hip Hop and RnB. Sadly this image took a spiral downfall due to a misconception by a magazine making the collective separate.
4. Grandmaster Flash and Fab 5 Freddy with Blondie

Before there was record of Run DMC's affiliation with Rock with Aerosmith or Beastie Boys with Bad Brains there was Grandmaster Flash and Blondie with their song Rapture. This photo is known as the first Rock/Hip Hop Collab.
5. 2 Lives Crew arrested

What you're looking at right now is a picture of 2 Lives Crew's Luther Campbell being arrested for raunchy acts by police officers. This will became an iconic scene for Hip Hop, a fight for Freedom of Speech.
6. Hip Hop strikes the Grammy's

The 31st Annual Grammy at 1989 was the first time Grammy's shower the first Rap Awards nominations. It consists of LL Cool J, Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince, Salt N Pepa, Kool Moe Dee and JJ Fad. Will Smith would call out Grammy's racism (1/2)
For not airing out the segment of the nomination

"You go to school for 12 years, they give you your diploma, and they deny you walk down the aisle." (2/2)
7. Kanye West and Mike Myers

The infamous yet striking line that Kanye said will remain in history as one of the best things to come out of Kanye's mouth. This picture captures moments before the sentence Ye says as we all know today George Bush doesn't care about Black people
8. The 1997 Cypher

This photo right here pulls out the strong roundtables of Hip Hop. Tough spitters that were first interviewed by Torue Neblett then it turns to an iconic freestyle cypher. It consists of Big Pun, DMX, Canibus, Mic Geronimo, John Forte, and Mos Def.
9. Last 2pac picture

Before his death, his last remaining picture of him was in a car alongside Sure Knight. This image will be one of the most haunting picture of Tupac right before he was shot to death at 1996.
10. Jay Z and Nas at Powerhouse

Both Jay Z and Nas had been over a feud for more than years from Takeover to Ether but when will it end? Gladly it did end at 2005 Powerhouse where both icons sweep the beef away and performed together.
