𝖳𝗁𝖾 𝖡𝗈𝗌𝗇𝗂𝖺𝗄𝗌 (𝗍𝗁𝗋𝖾𝖺𝖽)

The Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims) are a people who belong to the South Slavs and live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they account for more than 50% of the population. They also live compactly in the adjacent regions of Serbia and Montenegro.

There are many Bosniaks in Germany, Austria and the USA. There are about 4 million of them in diaspora. In the Middle Ages, the Bogomil movement was widespread among the ancestors of today's Bosniaks, which significantly differed from the official version of Christianity and was

persecuted by the Greek Orthodox Church. Sultan Mehmet II and the Ottomans brought Islam to the area in the late 15th century/early 16th century through the military conquest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other regions in the Balkans.

The Bosniaks converted to Islam quickly and peacefully. Over time, they have formed a very interesting,unique, and beautiful fusion of ancient Slavic and Eastern cultures, which is reflected in cuisine, clothes, music and architecture.
