@Dream Is manipulative as shit with his fans. The way he speaks to them spirals the parasocial relationships they already have towards him and the hyperfixation many people are 'apparently' afflicted by. Not to say it isn't real, but I feel like some people fake it.

The thing is I've felt this way for a while but there are a number of videos which truly speak on the matter better than I ever could, including this video by JSchlatt which speaks on parasocial relationships and how he wants his own stans to see him.
There's also this short twitch documentary called I'm not your friend;

This video talks about parasocial relationships, particularly surrounding the massive streamer Ludwig Ahgren, and I think this definitely has a lot of time and effort put into it.
I understand Twitter is a platform where you take in information in bite-sized chunks, so here is a video by Ludwig himself which addresses BOTH of these videos, and parasocial relationships as a whole.
Now how does this relate back to Dream? Well unlike these creators who set a fine line of, they don't know you as an individual and don't love you, they're just an entertainment source and if you don't enjoy them don't watch them.
And it's important to state this,
Additionally I like how they state that you can still make friends through communities around these creators and their content, but the creators themselves are not people that want to be your friend. It's healthy, and it lessens parasocial relationships that are prominent.
And then you have Dream. I'd like to preface this with, I love dream's content. He's incredibly fun and entertaining to watch, but holy shit the way he perceives and addresses his community is the exact opposite of all the points I just made.
The way he speaks to his community as a collective, and how he loves them all is insanely manipulative to these young teenagers that look to these creators as friends, he's literally just perpetuating these parasocial relationships and doesn't even think before doing it.
https://twitter.com/dreamwastaken/status/1336221076200812544 I don't think it's malicious, I think it's ignorant. The man is stubborn and is refusing to acknowledge the damage he is doing to these people who follow him like a leader, and will do anything he asks of them, lest we forget the Jawsh incident?

This tweet is by far the dumbest thing this man with an intense following could do, and basically told his fans it's OK to give shit to this man. He could have done what he did in a private setting, but out of ego or ignorance he didn't.
He has no responsibility upon himself as a creator to regulate himself and his swarms of fans. It's manipulative, it develops parasocial relationships and it's dangerous. I really think Dream taking the time to address these things is necessary for many.
On another note, if you have the time Jawsh did a stream regarding the whole situation, and I think watching it can give you a fresher perspective and it's very enlightening, as his tweets were harsh, though I still agree with them.
