A broad discussion of world-wide implications of SARS-CoV-2 & COVID-19.

The best summary I've seen of what UK got wrong about COVID-19!

Prof Devi Sridhar:
"For the world the pandemic is going to go on for several years'"

More about @devisridhar follows:
More successful countries typically treated SARS-CoV-2 & COVID-19 like previous SARS.

UK treated them more like flu: a VERY big mistake!

UK & US failed to learn from "non-Western" countries.

Poorer countries will struggle to afford vaccines.

More about costs of vaccines ....
Pfizer-BioNTech & Moderna vaccines are "for profit".
Unaffordable for mass vaccination in poorer countries.

Best hope here is probably Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine:

Non-profit during pandemic.
Easy to manufacture.
Doesn't need cold-chain.

Could supply be increased during 2021?
