Hello, friends. This is a thread about lust, and enablers of lust.

Essentially, it's about already having two, and wanting a third. This, here, is number one: About twelve years old (kalau tak MCO dah amik UPSR), taken me to places I'd never thought I'd get to, and while not my first, definitely my first love.

This, is number two. Been with me for about three years, but of course much more mature than even number one. A bit heftier, heavier.. but very stable and dependable.

Both number one and number two live (in storage) in Birmingham.

[After moving to Birmingham my ride to work was number two, but after two close calls with a small lorry that encroached into the bike lane, in late 2016 I invested in this guy. He's still around, in my friend Nazri's garage in Hockley, but he's a different breed].

Now, my new digs om Brum just off the Selly Oak - City Centre Cycle Superhighway and it might well be time to get back on the non-motorised two-wheelers for the work commute at least. (More about the Superhighway here : http://www.hedgehogcycling.co.uk/birmingham-cycle-superhighways-a38-a34.html)

As I was contemplating this, I saw this. My heart sighed with lust - yes, in the running for Bakal No 3.

The Temple Bike (prev tweet) is on the Cycle to Work plan - where you can buy bikes and equipment for 40% less and pay monthly, interest free over a year. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycle_to_Work_scheme).

TBH, this was how I could afford Number One. I'm an academic, I don't buy RM45k bikes.

It would probably mean a retirement for number 2 (possibly free to a good home?) and number 1 could well be a summer long ride bike and at other times, an indoor rider if I get one of these: https://tacx.com/product/flow-smart/

That means I still get the most out of Number One, and as it looks like it'll be a while before I'll brave an indoor gym, it might well be a suitable workout regime thing. New digs is also next to a 250 acre park - perfect for running.

If I succumb to lust and get both the Temple Bike and the Tacx, being so close the park means I get to alternate running and cycling, which is lovely.

Add to that the fact that my flat has a bathtub - can practice swimming so well on my way to becoming an Iron(wo)Man.
