Great work here, but not sure about the article's implication that restrictions on drug trials are the main reason why psychiatry's success has been stagnant as mental health problems have worsened overtime. A nontrivial % of mental health problems have socio-economic causes.
Those socio-economic causes that have worsened over the past few decades (e.g., related to income inequality) can also probably be historically linked to policies that Nixon championed, but not the same polices, and drug trials are not the solution to those issues.
