4 months ago I didn't have YouTube channel

My Twitter's last post was from 2010

$0 earned online

Now I've hit my first 4 figure month online which is enough to cover the living expenses for me and my partner here in Bali!

Best way to finish the year

9 lessons I got👇🏻
1. Consistency is king

Even if I am just 4 months in, I can already see the power of compounding.

My YT subs are growing faster (see img)

My TW followers are growing faster.

Just post consistently!

People are more likely to follow a high followed account so put in the reps
2. YouTube is gold

It's the best place I know to build credibility and get discovered (Google SEO)

I started in 2020 thinking I was late to the party.

WRONG

It's never late.

If you're on the fence, please join.

I'm also getting the highest conversion rates from there.
3. Talk to people (thanks @RobbieCrab)

Engaging in conversations online is easy

Find where your tribe spends time and help them out

I.e. I try to help people who are asking Notion related questions here on Twitter

+ Hop on calls with whoever needs it (DM me if you wanna chat)
4. Communities

Surround yourself with YOUR kind of people

My choices have been:
- @visualizevalue (online builders)
- @anthilemoon Ness Labs (online thinkers)
- @AliAbdaal PTYA Inner Circle (YouTubers)

Best communities out there

Can join PTYA here: https://go.danicanosa.com/PTYA
5. Ask, ask, ask

I'm asking for feedback all the time.

Does everyone answer? No

Does some? No

Does any? Yeah!

And this has helped me understand my customers' needs much better and craft my course updates more aligned to what they need.
6. Listen, listen, listen

People openly talk about their problems

And if you are to build a biz around solving them

Gotta listen

One day in Zoom, many people were complaining about how messy Notion gets

The following week I made this video

7. Email lists are not dead

I just created mine 4 weeks ago, and my list is now 226 people!

I'm using Notion templates as a lead magnet.

And then I try to provide value in every single issue (yesterday I gave a free annual review template).

Open rate is around 65% 🤯
8. Find an accountability partner

I talk to @TCLittler every 2 weeks

We share our learnings and strategies and give each other ideas during our calls.

Why do you think I started my newsletter?

Thanks to him!
And...

9. Have off days

This year I burnt out.

I didn't remember to take days off and this was affecting my life and relationship.

So please, even if you're building your company, take days off.

We're human and we need them.
Thanks for reading till the end.
