Thread: The Grand IIFA Awards 2011. Toronto. This was my next assignment after Jhalak, and boy was it a nightmare. I was excited that I was given an opportunity to work outside of India but everything quickly derailed and became a train wreck.

SRK won best actor and had worked out a deal with organizers to have “a fan” run on stage and grab his leg. Okay now you tell me, how can an international level award show allow someone to get on stage like this ? See the video below:
You’re probably wondering how I knew this was fake. Well when I was backstage, I saw the teleprompter say “the fan enters”..... so how in gods name would the teleprompter know that? Whole thing was pre-planned in advance and was a sham.
Also a certain virgin Jonas was staying on the same floor as SRK in their hotel. What’s the harm in that you ask? Well, the entire floor was “ordered” to be empty. Why do 2 people need an entire hotel floor? Even Johar wasn’t allowed to be in their nest. Hmmmm.
The other dramatic event of the evening was when Anushka Sharma won Best Actress, the presenter gave her the award and accidentally called her Anushka Shankar. The problem was, Anushka backstage was having tantrums! She said was offended.... and kept saying “how could they”
Sad. If only Anushka Sharma knew who Anoushka Shankar was! A renowned artist, daughter of Pandit Ravi Shankar. Talent toh nahi hai but tantrums throw karna hai madam ko. She’s lucky to be called a Shankar!
The Deol’s were drunk the entire time. From the moment they landed until they left. Hema Malini and Dharmendra did not share a room or even talk to each other. Their children all hate each other and Bobby Deol and Esha Deol even got into a spat. Here is a video of the nasha
Bipasha and Amisha showed up wearing the same dress. How did that happen? Well you should ask Kareena Kapoor. She hates both of them and planned the whole thing.
Sridevi was being supervised by Boner Kapoor. He would literally hold her hand everywhere they went as if he was her parent. By the way you will spot Janhvi’s real nose below.
Ranveer won Best Debut and Karan Johar watching him back stage said “is chutiya ko kyu diya yeh award”.... this was when Ranveer was not a part of hai camp.
Sonakshi and Ranveer were told to dance because their film Lootera was coming up. Anushka Sharma had a huge problem (she’s in love with him) with this and even got into a back stage fight with Sonakshi calling her a “five finger forehead cow”
