We have people in our Facebook groups who can’t swallow properly, can’t breathe properly, who are intermittently paralyzed, who are blacking out, who are pissing and shitting themselves, who cannot sit up, who cannot walk, and for whom there is *no pathway to medical care.*
I could spend the entire rest of my life working to convince the medical system that these people exist; that they are unseen, untreated, and abused; that they are worthy study and of urgent, competent medical intervention; that a large % of these cases could be prevented.
But what I want to understand is WHY. Why should any of us have to do that? Why should getting physicians and medical researchers to *DO THEIR JOB* have to be a multi-generational fight?
I’m tired of watching people die in slow motion for no good reason at all. If most physicians had ANY idea what was actually happening, they would be horrified...
EDIT: If most physicians had any idea of what is happening to the patients they turn away, I hope they would be horrified.
