Contrary to everyone's opinion towards this year.

2020 was the best year of my life, 🚀🚀
And here is my end-of-the-year journal in a thread. 🧵

[April-June 2020]

After being stuck in tutorial purgatory of web development for 1.5 years. I was now aware of the problem in my process. And solved it. Applied to 75+ jobs/gigs before got my first freelance project.
/3

It was for an E-Commerce platform for selling masks. The first time I was contacting a foreign (or any) client. After everyday changes & updates somehow I built it. And sold it.
/4

The very first time I made money on my own and that only in $.

Here is that website - [ https://www.kn95maskonline.org/ ]
/5

After that, I worked on 2 more projects.

Another website for selling masks & PPE kits. Built backend & designed logo for them,

And another one was Chrome Extension for Amazon Sellers. Worked on the backend for same,

[July - October]

After that, I got kind of bored with freelancing and decided that I want to work in startups.

Gave ~10 interviews to startups that I found through Angellist. None of them worked out.
/7

Through LinkedIn I got to know about The Knowledge Society(TKS) - [ https://tks.world/ ] It was like my dream place to be in. And this year they started their Virtual Bootcamp also.
/8

"No matter what, I want to be part of TKS", I said to myself every single when I was preparing for application. After a rigorous application process. I cleared it.
/9
I had a 1:1 Interview with Director at the same company. And I thought it went bad but I was selected. I was on cloud nine. But...
/10

The fee for the program is ~$5000 (~Rs. 3.5 lacs) And I couldn't afford that. I applied for financial aid. And got $2800 financial aid but still, the remaining amount was around Rs. 1 lakh. And after covid, I know that for now, my family could not afford that.
/11

I talked with the person who took my interview, nothing happened. I talked with the CEO of the company, nothing happened, And then I understood that I have to drop it.
/12

One day, a web developer from a company called Revoteen messaged me on LinkedIn that we have an open web developer position. I applied for it and got it.
/13

I worked on Revoteen as a front-end developer for the website. It's a networking platform for students to connect with like-minded students around the world, discover opportunities and join impactful student-led
organizations/initiatives.

[October]

Around October found @nipunnyy and @an_napurna 's @TweepsYoung and It was the best thing. Every Sunday learned a new life-skill that actually helps in your life. And it is really great learning from y'all.

[November]

Because of YoungTweeps, I came around an internship at Upraised and after the interview. I got it. It's been <2 months in the internship and I feel I learned more in these 2 months than probably in my life.

[December]

In the last 4-5 years since I have started reading. This year (I guess) I read the most. Read 40+ books this year, some of them are :
