There seems to be some confusion regarding my grassroots organizing w/ @GigWC . Our work is being done solely by volunteer workers fighting for change across platforms. We're not financially supported or run by Unions.

Despite similar names, members of @GigWC are NOT affiliated w/ Gig Workers Rising (GWR) in any way. Tweets suggesting otherwise are simply untrue.

We are as grassroots as it gets-made up of volunteers & we don't collect dues/fees from workers. We are just gig workers standing up for better treatment.

AB5 was created in CA to, in part, properly classify gig workers. While we are happy AB5 passed, some true freelancers were negatively impacted by the statue & now blame gig workers. The disdain they have for gig workers and anyone who endorses AB5 has gotten out of control.
I respect freelancers, but the amount of harassment displayed is unjust & disgusting. Tons of lies & attacks are spread via Anti-AB5 rhetoric, most notable that @GigWC is a union shill. The anger is misguided & should be directed at companies not gig workers.
People don't want to believe we are just a bunch of pissed off workers who banded together, without proper resources–BUT IT'S TRUE! Worker power is real and no one will fight harder for change than workers themselves.
