This bagel made its appearance on tiktok 8 days ago. Within 72 hours, it had:
✅ 1M+ Views ( https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJGpsv15/ )
✅ brought in 14K followers
✅ Was responsible for the largest nationwide sales days

Here’s what I have learned or confirmed in the last 8 days:
✨ Context ✨ i ran social accounts for small food spots in NYC as I started in social during college. This spot is the only one I still have as I spent the year now transitioning to brand. We are expanding into the DTC space in 2021- super excited. Get your oven ready 🥯
Now time for my first thread ever 🧵

1. As most know already know, Tiktok is an untapped market for brands, whether solely DTC or those with brick and mortar locations with a means of getting a product nationwide via sites like @goldbelly if you’re a restaurant, etc.
2. Community is 🔑

Have fun with your audience & ENGAGE. Brands responding and having a personality on Tiktok (or any platform) is a surprise to some because they don’t expect it. The amount of comments about us responding and our responses made up a big part of the comments.
3. Tiktok is great for top-of-funnel.

✅ was able to chat with those top players I want to send PR packages to in January in seconds
✅ Twitter 7X’ed overnight
✅ IG has grown by ~600 followers that I would say I can attribute. TBH was expecting a bigger IG hit.
4. Brick and mortar shops can see conversion. Whether this is local residents finding them, spots pairing up with creators ( https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJGpohpv/ )

We saw people drive 2 hours ( https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJGpEjeV/ ) and
if you are on sites like goldbelly, you can see increase in 💰because..
5.If you make a highly loved product that many can’t access, they will buy if they can & if it’s good.

Many of the nationwide orders we send go to mostly the south, Midwest & the west coast. Many born & raised NY’s who move definitely miss a good 🥯
6. Attribution is bit meh.

Order volume was at the highest ever since launching on goldbelly in April. The floor was covered in 📦. With our new product on the way, I plan to integrate a post purchase survey (credit to seeing this from @EggrolI ) w/ Tiktok as an option.
7. Tiktok videos have longevity.

Even on my personal tiktok, my videos from 4 months ago are still going to this day thanks to the FYP. Videos that didn’t “do well” at first are now getting traction months later. Tiktok really keep you on your toes 👀
9. Your simplest piece of content may be your best.

We see that videos of the simplest things do the best (this, a 🧀 pull or if the founder is in it). Have fun & add your personal twist to the “classic” vids. We’ll be working on duets & stitching vids pertaining to 🥯 to test
messed up numbers 🤷🏼‍♀️

Be patient 🧘🏼‍♀️ We were seeing incremental increases as we brought someone on to handle editing/filming/ uploading. With daily uploads, the account went ⬆️. Allowing someone to handle that has been a help as I focus on IG, Influencer & Tiktok community dev.
