Anthony Fauci is a person who was completely unqualified to run a pandemic response and indeed failed miserably by any measure. You can sum up a lot of problems with America’s pandemic management by pointing out it was run by a drug discovery guy instead of an epidemiologist
Do masks prevent spread of the virus when used with social distancing? No. Well maybe. Sure. Who cares? The point of science and the NIH is to help Pfizer pump out drugs profitably on the back of public sector R&D. Fuck you
One thing they like to talk about is how Fauci has advised every president since Reagan on infectious diseases. You can check on Wikipedia to see if there were any epidemics that happened under Reagan with no public health response at all. But hey we got drugs eventually!
But hey, don’t just take my word for it:
If I could sum up the legacy of people like Fauci in one sentence it would be that they promoted the idea that social and political action to address public health crises is unnecessary and that the government’s interest is primarily in facilitating drug development by industry.
