reasons why Zora Ideale is NOT just a passing guy who couldn’t be a super mage & why you SHOULD appreciate him more: a thread no one asked for
1. Zora is a well-written character. His character is quite consistent with the narrative of toppling down a classist system because’s he’s a product of it. Not to mention that his backstory and motivations are authentic, not contrived and definitely with depth.
2. Zora may not be the strongest character but even his conditional hacks and strong wits make him situationally stronger. Also, he’s one of the greatest defensive/utility mages in the series.
3. Zora is fucking smart. His magic naturally requiring planning & strategy really honed out his potential in battle. He’s an excellent strategist and IMO, before Nacht’s debut, he was the smartest Black Bull. Aside from his natural wits, Zora is observant & is great at deducing.
4. Zora Ideale has common sense. He’s probably not the type of person to “surpass their limits” but he knows how to acknowledge his weaknesses and strengths and know how and when to use that in his own advantage.
5. Zora’s got a sharp tongue has its benefits that add to other people’s character dev. Granted, his opinions aren’t very nice BUT his remarks are pretty damn accurate. His criticisms may be point-blank frank and harsh but has he really pulled out an L? Nah.
6. Injustice does not sit well with Zora Ideale. Dishonesty and plain bullshit DO not sit well with my man. As a product of Clover Kingdom’s inequality, he will take matters onto his own hands. Apathy? We don’t know him.
7. He’s one of the easiest characters to root for in Black Clover. Admit it. Despite the edgy exterior and his snarky attitude, this man has a heart of gold. He’s still growing as a character and he’s progressively learning to trust on his teammates. You just love to see it.
8. Zora predicted coronavirus. Anyway.
