alright, it has to be said: fighting games are categorically good.
they're so fucking enjoyable. they ALL are pure brain that rewards you for hitting any button combo and has the SINGLE BEST character movement of any video game genre.
imagine playing a non-platformer game where you have to be so precise to get around even just JUMPING SIDE TO SIDE 😵😵😵.
many people are actually capable of the kind of perfect input required to without relying on button-mashing. you spend hours practicing to get the timings right and feel truly good for perfecting it.
it is difficult to be "good" at fighting games, they can't just learn the order of buttons they should hit just for one character they've locked themselves into in the game and claim victory by hitting it over-and-over as fast as possible.
and that's probably the best aspect design-wise: I'm always AMAZED by the amount and diversity of playable characters this genre has. playing different characters is like playing different games so you never get bored
compare that to gacha games, which also have the prime selling point of the amount and diversity of usable characters, but the skills associated with each one viably translate out to any other build. spending time with a certain build obviously makes you better with it,
but switching between build isn't *literally certain* to change how you play the game, like the way that switching between fighters does in ANY fighting game.
for example, "Abigail", from the Final Fight and Street Fighter franchises, he is just a boss character who run around in the original game, but in street fighter he became the coolest character with original gameplay.
they CAN just make him play similarly to other characters, without sacrificing his concept from the original game, they gave him many new moveset that is completely unique, and with cool graphics.
it's so amazing that they can make a fighting game with diverse characters without having the act of playing any character over your "main" completely ruin the fun. fighting games are just categorically creative in terms of game design and balance.
and the movement in fighting games 😵😵😵😵😵 holy shit it's so fucking fun. it might take a lot of practice to control a complex character in a fighting game but you will have a blast when you perfect it
the best i've ever seen is either Marvel or Guilty Gear movement. the highest level maneuver in these games deserve an award.
like FFS fighting in Marvel is freaking hype and should be considered as a form of art
and if you play smash you're honestly godlike. straight up. that game in the highest level is so mind-blowing; while anyone can enjoy characters from different universes, it also has infinite depth that you can keep improving after hundreds of hours of practice for ANY character
That's it. I'm tired lol

I don't have enough energy to finish everything 🤣
