Instead of harassing and dogpiling the person who wrote “that thread”, we should honesty take a good look at it and understand what it represents: that Fighting Games, as I said, are THE WORST at making themselves naturally fun and are, as a result, super demoralizing.
Instead of harassing and dogpiling the person who wrote “that thread”, we should honesty take a good look at it and understand what it represents: that Fighting Games, as I said, are THE WORST at making themselves naturally fun and are, as a result, super demoralizing.
It’s something we need to address. And I think we do a terrible job of it, instead we make fun of people who have trouble with the genre. Fighting Games ARE HARD. We can’t expect people to “see the joy” of the genre just because we do.
As I’ve often stated, there are 57302746471936 other hobbies out there, including a giant chunk of other gaming genres that will be much more fun than Fighting Games for most people. We can’t just push away every person who critiques the genre. They have valid concerns.
There is so much to enjoy and love about Fighting Games, and we don’t spend enough effort helping people understand it. The games themselves do an infinitely worse job of it. We, myself included, must do better.
So instead of beating the OP down, let’s extend a branch instead.
